Tim "TK" Keanini brings over 23 years of technical expertise from the information security and gaming industries, giving him unique insights into the dynamic problems customers face with risk management. Recently appointed nCircle's Chief Research Officer, TK drives the company's long range strategic planning. TK's responsibilities include identifying new, emerging growth markets for information risk and security management initiatives and the products and solutions to serve them. In this primarily externally facing role, TK balances creative planning for the future with the company's charter to bring business context to customer's mission-critical security efforts. TK also manages nCircle's intellectual property strategies, the knowledge management team, and evangelizes on behalf of nCircle and the industry on several collaborative security initiatives.
Prior to his current position as nCircle's Chief Research Officer, TK provided product and strategic leadership to nCircle for 11 years as the company's Chief Technology Officer, delivering award-winning products and 9 United States patents, with many more pending.
With the threat landscape changing rapidly, TK's visionary approach to security initiatives puts nCircle, and its customers, on the leading edge of proactive security innovation. Radical new approaches to information risk and security management, like nCircle PureCloud™ and nCircle Benchmark™, represent the company's expanding strategy toward cloud computing and the socialization of metrics.
TK is committed to multi-vendor interoperability and devotes a significant amount of time to industry standards—working in some instances from standards inception—driving for a day when consumers enjoy seamless automation across all vendor products. He is also active in social media initiatives and tracking and predicting the social influence of shared information on user behavior and related security implications.
TK is a highly regarded industry expert in information security. His opinions and expertise have been featured in several publications, including Information Week, Federal Computer Week, CNET News and CIO. He speaks during key industry forums such as the RSA Conference, SANS Network Security, Security B-Sides, GFIRST and IT Security Automation Conference. TK is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
