John Alexander, CISSP - Product ManagerAs Product Manager at nCircle, John leads the vulnerability management product efforts and brings over 12 years of product management experience in delivering superior value to customers. John is a signal officer in the US Army Reserves and for the past seven years has led Army Vulnerability Management Teams (VAT) as part of the Western Information Operation Center (WIOC). The WIOC is one of the few cyber defense units in the Army Reserves and reports to the Army Reserve Information Operations Command (ARIOC) - and ultimately to Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER). He holds several computer security certifications to include: CISSP, CEH, CHFI, and CDFE, as well as Department of Defense 8570 Management Level III and 8570 Service Provider certifications.

nCircle IP360 Essentials: Configuration, Administration, and Maintenance
(2 days, Thursday/Friday, October 25-26)
nCircle IP360 Essentials is intended for system administrators, network administrators, security engineers, and anyone else responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining IP360. This course will familiarize you with all major functions of IP360, enabling you to configure, administer, and maintain IP360 in an actual network environment. Following an overview of vulnerability management, you will rapidly learn how to set up users, define a network, and configure and run a scan profile using IP360. The course also covers reporting, alerting, and ticket generation, VnE Manager administration, and introduces the Advanced Security Profiling Language (ASPL).
nCircle Configuration Compliance Manager (CCM) Essentials: Configuration, Administration, and Maintenance
(2 days, Thursday/Friday, October 25-26)
nCircle CCM Essentials is intended for system administrators, security engineers, compliance professionals, and anyone else responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining CCM. This course will familiarize you with all major functions of CCM, enabling you to configure, administer, and maintain CCM in an enterprise environment. Following an overview of configuration and compliance management, you will rapidly learn how to set up users and groups, define network profiles and scan configurations, and assess systems for compliance using CCM. The course also covers reporting, alerting, and the basics of compliance policy creation using the CCM policy editor.
Suite360 Intelligence Hub (SIH) Essentials: Configuration, Administration, and Maintenance
(1 day, Monday, October 22)
nCircle SIH Essentials is intended for system administrators, security engineers, compliance professionals, and other individuals responsible for reviewing vulnerability data, remediating systems, and tracking the effectiveness of enterprise vulnerability management and configuration auditing programs. This course will familiarize you with all major functions of SIH, enabling you to configure, administer and maintain SIH in an enterprise environment. Following an overview of SIH architecture, you will rapidly learn how to set up users and groups, define asset groups and views, assign asset values and apply advanced filters, and generate actionable reports with IP360 and CCM data.
Using Lua with CCM and SIH
(1/2 day, Monday, October 22 in AM)
This programming course in Lua is intended for technical security professionals who have a need to extend the built-in functionality of nCircle products. The course covers some basics of the Lua programming language and demonstrates how to use Lua to construct custom tests in nCircle CCM and advanced grouping and filtering rules in SIH. Participants are expected to have intermediate programming skills including command of Lua or a similar scripting language.
Using nCircle's Advanced Security Profiling Language (ASPL): Creating Custom Rules in IP360
(1/2 day, Monday, October 22 in PM)
This programming course is intended for technical security professionals who want to extend nCircle IP360 to check for custom conditions specific to their environment. The course shows how IP360 uses ASPL to check for vulnerability conditions, provides an overview of ASPL syntax, and how to create and bind custom ASPL rules. Reporting on results of custom condition checks and debugging are also covered. Participants are expected to have programming skills including command of Perl, Python, or a similar scripting language.
